Southern Baptist membership still falling

Child Baptism

According to the latest statistics released by the Southern Baptist Convention the membership of Southern Baptist churches is on the decline, positive news for the bible belt. Southern Baptist churches baptized fewer people in 2008 for the fourth year in a row to reach the lowest level since 1987, and membership in the country’s largest Protestant denomination fell slightly as well.

As a person that was brainwashed and indoctrinated into a Southern Baptist church in TN this is very pleasing news.  The fewer people, especially children, that are indoctrinated into this vile cult the better off the world is.  Southern Baptists are some of the most delusional Christians that can be found anywhere in the world.  These people are truly bat shit crazy.

Southern Baptist churches teach women to be subservient to men who are, by their interpretation of the bible, to be the spiritual head of the household.  When not spreading sexists ideas these baptist preachers are either begging for tithes or pushing politics from the pulpit.  These scum preachers have no problems saying “a vote for a “demoncrat” is a vote for Satan,” violating the separation of church and state every time they can get a chance.

Lets all hope Christianity and evil organizations like the Southern Baptist Convention continue to decline into non-existence for the sake of our children and humanity.

Very sad to see so much hatred for Christianity. I have heard many Southern Baptist Preachers state that God is neither Republican or Democrat. Funny that the tolerent left are so open minded yet paint with a broad brush that states all Southern Baptist are dillusional.

I grew up in a southern baptist church and wouldn’t consider taking my children there. These folks have one tie that bonds them together, unprecedented hate of gays and lesbians in Jesus’s name. They make a mockery of the Christ. Just look at the SBC website and as President Carter said in his book, “Our Endangered Values,” The southern baptists have put homosexuality at the pinnacle of what’s wrong with the world. They’re sick with hate and it is no surprise that young people aren’t interested in their self righteous contraditory mean spirited shit.

As a Liberated Christian I agree that there are “crazy bat shit” extremists within the Southern Baptist denomination, but I have attended some more moderate Southern Baptist churches as well. Within the more moderate SB churches I’ve mostly met caring people without extreme views. And lets not pretend there aren’t a few “crazy bat shit” Atheists and Agnostics out there as well.

I wouldn’t judge any church simply by the name on the door, or some radicalized fundamentalists within the denomination. Honestly, I’d recommend some of the more moderate Southern Baptist churches over-and-above many other churches and denominations…but yes, be careful you don’t step in that “crazy bat shit” either.
